Chloe Kelly was over the moon after she lifted the UEFA Women’s Champions League trophy, just five months on from arriving for her second spell with us.
She played 68 minutes of our 1-0 win over Barcelona in Lisbon before making way for Beth Mead.
“I'm absolutely buzzing, what an unbelievable club,” she said afterwards.
“I'm grateful for the opportunity this club gave me. I said I came here to win trophies and we did just that. It's history.
“We got to speak to the girls this week, the ones that won it in 2007, and I think that was so inspiring for us all. And now to do it ourselves, we've wrote history.”
Asked about how difficult the second half was to play in, with us under the cosh for the majority of it, defending stubbornly against Barcelona, Kelly added: “The whole game was a real graft.
“We were comfortable being uncomfortable. I think that was our mindset throughout the week. But we needed to do better and we did just that.”
“Stina’s just a natural finisher. She puts teams under such threat and is unbelievable.
“These supporters are so good. They're unbelievable. The best fans!”
